Vienna nightlife

Dancing and “chilling” of the highest quality - after all, Vienna’s electronic music scene is world-renowned. Clubs such as Flex at the Danube Canal were selected as one of the best locations worldwide.

The program there varies as much as it does at other party locations in the city. Such flashbacks may come as a bit of a surprise given that Vienna and music are usually associated with old skool holies of a more classical kind, namely Herr Strauss and Herr Mozart. However, the city of Schubert wasn't entirely by-passed by the rave scene. But before we get carried away quoting rambunctious rhymes, let's have a look at what the Viennese nightlife scene offers today.

A couple of years back 'The Bermuda Triangle' (near Schwedenplatz) was the hippest spot to check out for bars and clubs. But that seems to have vanished into oblivion as a hot spot. Next up there was a big buzz around the Gurtel. There are still one or two venues there - Rhiz is a standout for electronica heads - but elsewhere the quality control seems to have taken a dive of late - it's make or break time for the scene in that neck of the woods. Still, if you're up for some unadulterated student style rampages, a couple of clubs by Nussdorfer Strasse supply mini-skirted, house-stomping shenanigans.

List of few clubs in Vienna

Inside the Pratersauna, several floors operate at the same time; people can also dance right next to the cold plunge pool of the former sauna. Mostly Minimal Techno is played at "Aufguss", while the "Praterei" club specializes in electronic acts. The "Indiesauna" club brings rock-style live bands to the main floor. In summer, the parties spill out onto the garden and terrace.

The Bermuda Triangle

Today, the Bermudadreieck is recommended in pretty much any city guide as Vienna′s "party mile". I don′t really understand that. On a weekday, everything is calm after 10 pm. On the weekends, rowdy crowds of guys in Tommy-Hilfiger shirts and girls with fake pearl earrings and popped polo collars - both kinds usually drunk from over-priced cocktails.

U4 Discothek

When you go in you must pass Conny, the most famous doorkeeper of Vienna. Downstairs you will find the normal disco-room and the club-room. The U4 has a long history in discolife in Vienna, many now famous groups played there (Prince, Sade, ...). Many concerts and special events happend there. Good music, nice people and good DJs.
Schönbrunnerstraße 222

Bar and Disco. Free entrance to the Bar. Nearly every day special DJs.
Franz-Josefs Kai

Club Habana (Havana)

Lively Latin bar where the cocktails flow freely and the salsa rhythms continue into the early hours. The weekly programme includes live music, salsa dance lessons as well as DJs spinning cool latin grooves. After a few drinks (and a session on the dancefloor) indulge yourself with one of the famous Havana cigars sold here, or just simply sit back and admire this excellent bar/club in full swing.
